This is a brilliantly hardy grape that Dr. Zweigelt created for the Austrian climate. These vines are grown in the dolomite foothills of the Alps. Hand-harvested & grown organically. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, using the punch down cap method. The wine is racked & then aged for 12 months in 1,200-litre wooden casks. The result is a medium-bodied wine with warm dark blackberry fruit balanced by Alpine freshness.
